“In 2022, After a Warm Saudi Welcome, My Arab Journey Began…”
“I always knew I wanted to work abroad for a while. 🌍✈️
I didn’t have a clear plan, but I wanted to try something new and unusual while I was still young.
As a student, I came across GoGlobalCare and their job offers in the Gulf countries. At that time, Saudi Arabia was still quite closed – tourists couldn’t even visit. 🕌
I thought: “If not now, then when?” – living and working in such a different place could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After gaining a few years of experience in Poland, I applied and received a job offer from King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. 🏥
The preparations and paperwork took a few months, but in January 2022… my Arabic adventure began! 🎉
For me and my family, it was stressful – my first time going abroad alone, without friends, to a completely new world.
But when I arrived, I was met with incredible warmth and kindness. ❤️
🕰️ Of course, it wasn’t easy – “Arab time” is completely different from Polish punctuality 😉
I had to learn patience and accept things I couldn’t control.
Even though I’d read a lot about life in Muslim countries, many things still surprised me – like the lack of Western-style clothing on the streets, or how deeply religion is present in everyday life.
Hearing the call to prayer in hospitals and shopping malls? That was a shock – but I got used to it quickly. 🙏⏰
👨👩👧👦 Another big surprise was how close family ties are – incredibly close!
I come from a loving and close-knit family, but seeing so many people visiting in hospitals, with children, grandmas, aunts… it was something new and beautiful.
Working in the largest labor ward in Saudi Arabia was unforgettable. 💪👶
I learned so much – both as a midwife and as a human being.
It’s a true privilege to be part of a birth – even if it’s already the 5th, 8th, or 10th child! 😅
I met strong women living completely different lives.
Sometimes they didn’t speak English, but… a smile and a few Arabic words were enough. 😊🗣️
After a year, I went back to Poland for a while, to be with my family. But I knew it wasn’t the end. 🧳❤️
I found out that GGC had started working with hospitals in Abu Dhabi – and I had visited the city before and really liked it. 🌆
I got a job at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, went through more preparations and exams… and I was ready for the next chapter. 📘✨
It’s not always easy. It’s not always pleasant.
But stepping outside your comfort zone feels exactly like that – and it’s truly worth it. 🙌🌟
Today I’ve been living for a year in the United Arab Emirates… and I’m not ready to go home yet.
Not yet. 💫”
