Silvie is a passionate Healthcare Educator with twenty-five years of progressive experience in healthcare environments. She is an MPH graduate from the University of Manchester and Health Service Education/Health Care Management graduate from the Unisa University of South Africa.
The foundation she has built, professionally, included most recently, working as Health Advisor/Coordinator in INGOs in France, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Zambia, where she covered different positions; supporting several humanitarian emergency and long-term developmental projects.
Previously, she worked within busy, tertiary hospitals in Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia performing ICU and Medivac duties and also providing clinical education and capacity building to medical and nursing staff. During her placement in Middle East she covered different managerial and educational positions such as Interim Director of Nursing, Clinical Educator and Parenteral Nutrition Coordinator supporting community health clinics and government hospitals.
Currently is working as CELTA Certified Teacher in Teaching English to Speakers of Other languages.
Silvie leads her lessons by CAMBRIDGE PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH IN USE – MEDICINE book.
This book contains 60 units covering a wide variety of medical vocabulary. Topics include diseases and symptoms, investigations, treatment, examining and prevention. The book also introduces general medical vocabulary related to parts and functions of the body, medical and para-medical personnel, education and training, research, and presentations.
